SPIGA Biotech is one of the most powerful multinational corporations in the world. SPIGA is the world's largest biotech corporation. The company has been at the forefront of the genetic engineering revolution. They grew to prominence by designing seed able to flourish in hash conditions, creating pest and drought resistant crops, and developing In Vitro Meat .

Corporate History[]

In 2023, The U.S. Government gave billions in subsidies to biotech startup SPIGA to help combat both the pesticide-resistant Asian Longhorned Beetles infestation and the massive problems of deforestation.

In 2024,SPIGA eradicates the Asian Longhorned Beetle and begins work on complex genetically modified plants to help address the carbon gap. This leads to the U.S. Government awarding SPIGA tax-exempt status.

The U.S. Government is confronted with decades of existential challenges including climate change, natural disasters, famine, migration, and the Oil War. The government was unable to mange these threats the Untied States contracts SPIGA to manage the situations. In turn the U.S. government yielded incredible amounts of power and land to SPIGA.

in 2049, The government ratifies the 29th Amendment, granting corporations sovereignty. This allowed SPIGA to essentially act as a nation states, with all of the rights and abilities of a separate government.

In 2050, SPIGA buys out several of its closest rivals, becoming the largest biotech corporation on the planet.
